The Florida Consortium of Urban League Affiliates, along with Derrick Brooks Charities, manage the state's Youth Crime Prevention and Intervention grant programs. In 2012 they have joined the Office of the Attorney General as partners in presenting this annual conference. We are truly in it together.

What is the conference about?

The Florida Office of The Attorney General National Conference on Preventing Crime is a collaborative effort sponsored by Attorney General Ashley Moody to foster communication and action among practitioners through the sharing of innovative ideas and prevention strategies that have been successful in all communities. This year’s conference will be hosted by Sheriff John W. Mina and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. A major component of the program will be directed toward alternatives to violence among our young people. The agenda is designed to showcase successful programs and promote a positive exchange of ideas on the subject. Approximately 1,000 people attended the 2019 conference’s event in Tampa, Florida.

Conference Highlights to Include:

Plenary sessions, luncheons, breakout sessions for adults and teens, and a Youth Speak-Up Speak-Out session.

Concerned citizens (adults and teens) and professionals from law enforcement, juvenile justice, corrections, victim services, educational institutions, local governments, religious and social services, labor and employment relations.

The Florida Office of The Attorney General National Conference on Preventing Crime will be held in Orlando, Florida on August 24 - 26, 2022.

All conference sessions will be conducted at the following location:

Registration Fees:

Adult Registration Fee
(Includes two luncheons and conference materials.)
Youth Registration Fee
(Includes two luncheons and conference materials.)

Deadlines and Cancellations:

After August 5, 2022, participants must register on-site (August 24 - 26, 2022). Luncheon tickets cannot be guaranteed for participants who register after August 5, 2022. Cancellations and requests for refunds must be received in writing no later than August 5, 2022. Refunds will not be processed until after September 30, 2022.

Payment Information:

Conference participants can pay by check or money order. All checks and money orders should be made payable to the URBAN LEAGUE OF BROWARD COUNTY, INC.. NO CASH OR CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS WILL BE ACCEPTED. All checks and money orders should be mailed to the Florida Office of The Attorney General, National Conference on Preventing Crime, Bureau of Criminal Justice Programs, The Capitol, PL-01, Tallahassee, FL 32399-1050, before August 5, 2022.
